BLUE BULLETS XC SEASON OPENER
The SCJH-Bradford JH coop XC teams opened their inaugural season on Saturday August 13 at the Blue Bullets XC Season Opener. The meet was held at the Knoxville JH/HS complex. Stark County (as the coop will be known as) had 3 Girls and 6 Boys competing in the meet. The Stark County girls got the meet started out with a bang with two of the Girls finishing in the top eight. Dusti Smith won the Girls race taking the lead at the start of race and never looked back winning in a time of 12:22 breaking the previous course record (13:09) by 47 seconds. Norah Rorem (15:22 - 8th) worked her way up to the top eight with a strong second half of the race earning her the last medal passed out. Jalynn Conlin (21:29 - 40th) was the other finisher for the Girls. The Girls had 2 teammates that were missing due prior commitments. In the Boys race, Stark County finished 4th out of 5 scoring teams. The Boys had a nice pack of 4 runners for most of the race with Hunter Ely (14:16 - 18th) leading the way. He was followed closely by Will Denton (14:40 - 23rd), Erik Knobloch (14:43 - 25th) and Micah Stubbs (14:44 - 26th). Isaac Macke (18:00 - 48th) got the final scoring spot for the Boys finishing just ahead of Aiden Grinnell (18:13 - 52nd). The Boys were missing one teammate due to injury.

The teams will next compete at home in the SCJH Rebel Rush on Saturday August 27. The meet has a 9am start. Teams scheduled to run the meet with the host are Cambridge, Putman County & Sherrard.
